Jose Canales is a Honduran artist who mainly focuses on caricaturesque prints of animals encountered throughout his life. His practice is greatly influenced by artists such as M.C Escher and Robert Arneson. Just like Arneson, Jose believes that humor has a place in high art and that the more whimsical subjects is paramount to the human experience.

Material-wise, Jose uses a variety of techniques such as silkscreen printing, wood carving, animation and digital design. He strongly believes that expanding into different mediums is essential to an artists development.

Jose has earned a Bachelor’s in Art, Master in Business Administration and a Masters in Data Analysis all from Southeastern Louisiana University. Currently he works as an artist in Texas and participates in art markets along with his wife Tiffany Nesbit.
